A Baby is On the Way! | Suffolk, VA Maternity Photographer |

Mrs. W contacted me a while ago about scheduling a holiday photo session for her family.  She and Mr. W had been high school sweethearts and including a throwback picture of them together was a must for their session.  However, busy work schedules and the holidays quickly approaching made it impossible to do the session at that time.  Well when Mrs. W called to reschedule, she called with even sweeter news that she was expecting and that their session would be a maternity session!     The W family is expecting a baby girl and I know they couldn’t be more excited!  I’m so happy that they chose ME to capture this special time in their lives.  Their baby girl will be arriving soon!

Sweet Baby T – Not Even Home Yet | Suffolk, VA Fresh 48 Photographer |

Meet Baby T – This little guys first session was a Fresh 48 Session where I captured some pretty awesome moments of the first days of his new life with his family.  Mommy’s sweet kisses, Daddy’s praying hands, A proud Grandma and Aunt, and those precious details documenting Baby T’s new life.

You may be asking, “What’s a Fresh 48 Session.”   This isn’t a traditional posed photo session.  It’s exactly what it sounds like.  It’s a photo session for a fresh new baby within the first 48hours of birth before they even leave the hospital.   This type of lifestyle session captures a families first precious days with baby – Mommy’s glow, Daddy’s joy, Baby’s tiny features, and the details of Baby’s first room that are often forgotten once Mommy and Baby are all comfortable at home.  Let me capture the first bonds you share with your  new baby!

The W Family – 10 Years and a Whole Lotta Love Later | Suffolk, VA Family Photographer |

10 years later and they took their family back to where it all began – to the charming clapboard church where they pledged their love to each other. We started the W Family session in the very spot where mom and dad posed for wedding photos. A lot of great things can happen in 10 years and the W’s were joined this time by their 5 beautiful children. It was a perfect day for their session and I’m happy to share a few from this lovely session from such a special location. Happy 10th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. W!

Warm Smiles on a Chilly Morning | Suffolk, VA Family Photographer |

I’m so happy that I was able to photograph the R family. There was the holiday rush, busy work schedules, rainy weather, travel, and cold temperatures but we made it happen! You would NEVER guess that this beautiful family met me on a very chilly morning for their session. There were no sleepy faces here and with coats and blankets within reach the little cuties didn’t even have a chance to shiver. Mom was just as radiant as always and Dad and Big Brother came with handsome smiles and tickles. R family – Rain, work, travel, holiday hustle, cold weather didn’t prevent your session and I’m so happy that I was able to work with you!

A Walk in the Park | Suffolk, VA Family Photographer |

What a perfect Saturday evening for a session at the park with the beautiful M family. I’d been to this park before, but only the play area for my own little guys to play. Not this time – We explored parts of the park that were a bit off the beaten path and perfect for some gorgeous family photos. I didn’t tell them before hand that we’d do a bit of trekking in the woods, but they were such good sports and the boys seemed to really enjoy it. They didn’t even ask about the playground equipment! M Family – You were such a pleasure to work with. Thank you for choosing ME!

Counting down! | Windsor, NC Maternity Photography |

After posting a teaser on FB, I had to share more of this gorgeous mommy. It seems like just yesterday that she made the great announcement that she was expecting and now she’s counting down the days until this little bundle of love arrives.   Their home is full of  love, joy, anticipation, and excitement to meet their newest member…….and the baby gear is rolling in.  It was such a great pleasure photographing this beautiful mommy and her growing family.  Oh, and I’m counting down too!

I’m On A Mission!!! | Colerain, NC Family Photographer |

I’ve noticed the photos that I have the least of are of some dearest to me.  They are always either too busy to have their photos taken, not dressed right, hair isn’t done,  the time isn’t right, or they’re camera shy,  and the list goes on… I wanted PORTRAITS and I decided to take action.  They were TRICKED into having their photos taken.  I quietly set up my things and invited them to come where I was.  My dear grandmother saw what looked like a very comfy chair and gladly sat down.  She was clueless as to what was about to happen.   I was ALL smiles at this point because I wasn’t really expecting it to be THIS easy.  I had her just where I wanted.  Next in line came my parents and I wasn’t taking any excuses this time.  Nope…not at all.  They were available, they were dressed, and I wasn’t taking “NO” for an answer.   Even though I only had a precious few moments to photograph them, I’m so happy with the end results.  My mission isn’t complete though.  There’s still one more very special man – my grandfather that I MUST photograph.  Until then let me introduce you to some of my love ones – My Parents and My Grandmother!
